Complete in two (2) volumes as originally issued in 1877 and 1880 (Vol. III was issued in 1896), uniformly bound in maroon cloth with black and gilt accents. Minimally ex-library with spine panels clear-coated and with handwritten call numbers, repeated on copyright pages in ink, dried glue residue on rear fixed endsheets of both volumes. Vol. I spine panel shows 1/2" surface cloth loss at head and 1/4" loss at heel, Vol. II with minor loss at both extremities. Corners rubbed, most showing modest exposure. Vol. I hinges mended and firm, Vol. II hinges intact. Interiors clean, typically a bit age-toned. A decent reference set showing wear commensurate with age but no major faults. xiii,11-786 + xv,11-820 pp., complete as given, illus. w/ plates.
