The Papers of Henry Laurens [Vols. I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX - 9 Volumes (of 16)]


First nine (9) volumes of a set eventually completed in 16, uniformly bound in purple and dark gray cloth, lettered in silver foil. All volumes are first editions, issued 1968-88. Papers span 1746-1777, including Laurens' tenure as president of the Second Continental Congress. All volumes exhibit light shelf wear with mild spotting to top text block edges, several with light spotting to cover cloth. Vol. III shows mild binding lean, and several bindings are slightly cupped, indicating light use. All volumes minimally VG+, most Near Fine. Vols. II and IV-VIII in dust jackets, other volumes lacking DJs; jackets show mild spotting/soiling, light wear, overall VG to Near Fine, now in mylar. xl,408 + xxv,581 + xxvi,600 + xxv,720 + xxxii,840 + xxv,660 + xxviii,653 + xxiii,783 + xxiv,710 pp., several volumes w/ color frontis., others w/ b&w or folding frontis.
