Spine panel background violet sunned to a medium gray, also a sunning line along upper front cover approx. 1/2" from top edge, mildly toned text block edges and endpapers. Slight surface rubbing to covers. Firm binding, clean interior, top edge gilt bright and crisp. xi,267 pp., illus. w/ 70 color plates w/ captioned tissue guards. One of the more common entries in the Black series, but a much better than average copy.
