All text block edges in gilt, original to issue. Presents thus virtually "as new," with light scuffing to original title panel. Firm, square binding, fully intact interior. First thus/2nd edition, considerably more scarce than the original 1869 edition, enlarged, 397 pp. total (371 of main text) and 21 plates, whereas the original was 357 pp. w/ 9 portraits.
