Dark blue textured cloth, decorated in blind, lettered and decorated in gilt on spine panel. Modest shelf wear, a bit rubbed at extremities, text block edges dulled by age. Firm binding, interior intact and clean. Former owner signatures on front flyleaf, front blank (G. W. Brown, M.D., Port Carbon, Schuylkill Co., Pennsylvania). Notably well-preserved copy of an exceptionally scarce and historically significant issue, here in its original binding, fully intact, with light overall wear, most notable as one of the first published mentions of the Irish Potato Famine and certainly the first to provide it any substantial coverage.
