Original edition, in three (3) volumes, newly recased in red leatherette, titles and volume numbers stamped in gold foil on spine panels, new endsheets, text block edges slightly shaved. Approx. 12 1/2" x 8 3/4". Presents "as new," with sturdy, durable binding. Retains all original wraps, bound in, except for front cover of Vol. I, which is lacking. xvi,310,[1] + [iv],319,[1] + [iv],274,[1] pp., illus. w/ numerous decorative head- and tail-pieces, (10) + (12) + (9) full page engraved plates with tissue guards. Text in French. Wraps show general soiling and edge chipping, but text blocks are quite nicely preserved, with only an occasional slight bit of soiling, all plates intact. Edition de grand luxe. "Il a ete tire vingt cinq exemplaires numerotes sur papier du Japan, contenant une double suite de toutes les compositions tirees a part, en bistre, sans le texte. Chaque exemplaire est rehausse d'un delicieux sujet a l'aquarelle, a plusieurs personnages, par M. Jacques Wagrez." Exceptional.
