Tan cloth, lettered in red and black on spine panel. Stated First Edition. xi,270 pp. Mild binding lean appears original to issue; slightly rubbed spine extremities. Notably well preserved copy. Dust jacket chipped with several closed tears and minor loss at spine extremities, area of surface paper loss along top rear edge, chipped corners, mild creasing to rear flap. Original $3.50 price and 3/57 date intact on front flap, now in mylar; overall DJ condition G to G+. Inscribed by author on front flyleaf, to Robert Archer, dated Jenkintown (Pennsylvania), 11 June 1957. Author's eighth book, desireable vintage inscription dating within three months of initial publication in March 1957.
