6 A Brass Hat in No Man's Land
Crozier, Brig.-Gen. F. P.
New York: Jonathan Cape/Harrison Smith, 1930. First American Edition
Cloth 8vo - over 7" - 9" tall. Fair. Very Good
Light brown cloth, lettered in gilt. Slight loss at top corner of front flyleaf, interior and text block otherwise fully intact. 254 pp. Rear hinge shows evidence of neat repair to mend split paper, otherwise firm. However, the binding shows loss of approx. 1"-wide strip of cloth along the bottom edge of both boards and clear evidence of chewing (by, we hope, a canine or feline rather than a past reader of this copy), with consequently mangled edges and lower spine panel (text block completely unaffected). Scarce original dust jacket is somewhat toned by age with modest edge chipping but no damage such as is found on the binding, now in archival mylar. Overall, an acceptable reading/reference copy or an opportunity to acquire a reasonably priced dust jacket to marry to a better copy. 027134
