Accompanied by the final two maps (both large color folding) originally bound in at pp. 834 and 852, both loose/detached. Map of Indian Reservation shows several separations to folds along top edge, mild separation at one fold juncture, and minor mildew soiling (not active); Map of Indian Territory nicely intact with only light soiling to verso. Includes Parts I-IV, occupying through p. 264, Part V (Catlin) separately paginated, bound into one volume, as originally issued, approx. 3 5/8" thick. Occasional light, scattered soiling, mostly in margins and blank versos, light dampstaining to some plates and maps, purely cosmetic and a minor distraction, mild mildew staining (again, not active) to later Catlin portrait plates. Howes D 416. Overall, a very attractive copy that will withstand years of continued use. 028776
