1st edition: Jan. 1907. Text of address prepared at the request of Cambridge University by the American Ambassador to Great Britain and delivered in the Senate House as the opening address in the course on the 18th century for summer meeting of 1906. Olive cloth, decorated in gilt. 40 pp., red type in margins, author's frontis. portrait. A bit toned toward edges and along spoine, lightly soiled, rear panel somewhat unevenly faded. Period gift inscription on front flyleaf (dated 1908), which is lightly foxed. A production of D. B. Updike, The Merrymount Press, Boston.
