Tan cloth, color pictorial pastedown illus. mounted on front cover, lettered in orange. Stated 2nd edition: 16 May 1910. Modest shelf wear, surface rubbing to front pastedown and small areas of loss along lower left border, cloth rubbed at spine extremities with modest soiling to rear cover and toned spine panel. 308 pp., illus. w/ b&w photographs, diagrams. Clean endpapers, contents and text block edges slightly age-toned. Top edge of final text leaf (pp. 307-08) and rear blank a bit ragged from having been opened over hastily, other edges fully intact. Author was the hub of the famous "Tinkers to Evers to Chance" infield combo of the Chicago Cubs.
