Truro and London Joseph Pollard 1898 First Edition Decorative Cloth Good-VG Not Issued
Gold cloth, illustrated in black, lettered in gilt. Two volumes (all published). [ii],488 + 420 pp., illus. w/ many b&w plates, figures inserted within text. Both front covers show some flecking to cloth, mostly nearing fore-edge. Corners bumped with some exposure, spine extremities a bit frayed, spine panels somewhat dulled by age. Hinges of Vol. II show mild and neat evidence of repair; Vol. I hinges fully intact. Bindings a bit shaken but holding quite firm. Foxing adjacent to endpapers, else clean interiors. Light moisture ring impressions on front cover of Vol. I. All said, a bit cosmetically blemished, but decently preserved set, a strong G to VG- condition. All proceeds from the sale of this copy revert to the Allentown Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) to support scholarships for women enrolled at Lehigh Valley (Pennsylvania) colleges whose studies have been interrupted.
